The Grapes of Wrath.
New York: Viking Press, 1939. Hardcover. First edition. A lovely copy of Steinbeck's classic work of the dispossessed and hopeful. A near fine book with minor soiling to the edges of the boards. Some professional retouching at the head and foot of the jacket and a closed tear on the rear panel. Oatmeal pictorial cloth stamped in brown. Battle Hymn of the Republic end papers. The Elmer Hader designed dust jacket is clipped at four corners, but first edition statement at the bottom of the front flap is clearly visible and intact. Some darkening to the jacket spine but vibrant colors throughout. Price of $2.75 present on flap. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1940 and one of the most important American novels of the 20th century. [Book #27771]
