Englewood Cliffs: Prentice-Hall, 1972. Hardcover. First edition. A very good book with some sunning to the jacket spine. This is an ex-library copy with tape marks and a card pocket at the rear paste down. This is the first book written by Ivan Doig, though his memoir, This House of Sky, is often cited as such. Co-authored by his wife Carol, a journalism professor, the book is a guide to how the average citizen should read and listen to the news and tips on examining accuracy, viewpoint and bias. At the time he wrote this Doig was a freelance writer living in the Seattle area. One of a limited number of hard bound copies issued for library use. Signed by Ivan Doig on the title page.
