There were some surprises, but the selection set off a wave of publicity and focused increased interest in many of the writers. This issue is signed by: Sherman Alexie, Jeffrey Eugenides, Edwidge Danticat and Jonathan Franzen who also has drawn horns and eyeglasses on his portrait. Signed by the author.
