This is a 44-page pamphlet written by Rachel Carson who would later write the important environmental classic, Silent Spring. She wrote this pamphlet in 1943 while working for the US. Fish and Wildlife Service. It is a detailed look at the availability of edible fish from the rivers of the Mid West. Authorities were concerned that as World War II dragged on shipments of fish from the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans would be curtailed. The pamphlet contains 26 illustrations of various fish. Very uncommon.
