New York: Knopf, 1941. Hardcover. First edition. The author's first solo book publication, specially signed by Roethke in his characteristic green fountain pen ink on the title page. A fine book in full blue cloth in a near fine dust jacket. Dust jacket is complete with some edge chipping, primarily at the head of the spine. The copy is hand numbered "600" on the colophon page. Roethke won the Pulitzer Prize in 1954 and the National Book Award in 1959. An uncommonly lovely copy of a book with a fragile dust jacket, especially being signed. Signed by the author.
