Critics frequently call him one of the best poets of his generation, and one of the twentieth century's greatest writers. Wodwo was Hughes' fourth collection of poetery and the first published following the suicide of his wife, Sylvia Plath in 1963.

Wear to the extremities and jacket spine which is also sunned. There is 3 inch slit along the middle of the rear panel. Owner bookplate to the front pastedown. The sixth collection by the poet who won the Pulitzer Prize in 1966. She died in 1974.
